Handball Federation of Nigeria, HFN, has confirmed that the 2021 National Division One League will hold in the city of Benin, Edo state.
Handball: 20 male and 10 female teams to participate in Division 1 league
The Handball League is expected to hold in Benin City later this month
The league, which will be held from February 25 to March 6, will be sponsored by the Government of Edo state and will see a total of 30 teams, made of 20 male and female clubs compete for honours.
This much Pulse Sports Nigeria gathered via a statement released by the Secretary-General of the Federation, Alhaji Maigidansanma Mohammed, after a virtual meeting with the Executive Board led by Sam Ochedo last Sunday.
"The Executive Board of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (led by Mr. Sam Ocheho) had a meeting virtually (on Sunday) wherein they fixed the date for the National Division One Handball League after getting the mandate from the Edo State Government" Alhaji Maigidansanma said.
The 30 teams will take part in the Division One League for a chance to be promoted to the elite league, the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League.
Winners in the Male and Female Categories in the Division One will automatically be promoted to the Prudent Energy Handball Premier 2022.
