1. 2018 Winter Paralympics Games hosts & Duration

The 2018 Winter Paralympics Games will be hosted in PyeongChang, South Korea just as the Winter Olympic Games.

The Paralympics will commence from Friday, March 9 till  Sunday, March 18.

2. Nigeria absent from 2018 Winter Paralympics Games

Nigeria made a first appearance at the Winter Olympic Games in 2018, after the Bobsled team and Skeleton athlete Simidele Adeagbo to represent the country, however the green white green will not be at the Paralympic Games as no Nigerian will be participating.

3. North Korea to participate at 2018 Winter Paralympic Games

After a successful appearance at the 2018 Winter Olympics, the North Korean flag will again be in paraded in PyeongChang.

Although, unlike the Winter Olympic Games where both South and North Korea participated under the same flag, the North Koreans will compete as an independent nation, with just two athletes set to represent them.

4. Events at the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games

There will be six Winter Paralympic sports events available for athletes to participate in.

An estimated 570 athletes are expected to compete for 80 medals in various events which include cross-country skiing, snowboarding alpine skiing, wheel chair curling,  ice sledge hockey and biathlon.

5. Russia to compete as Neutrals at 2018 Winter Paralympic Games

Russian athletes who have been certified that they are clean of drugs, will be allowed to compete as Neutrals at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

After the Winter Olympic Games the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) will turn its attention to the 2020 Olympic Games.
