Dom Shipperley will remain with Melbourne Rebels for another year after agreeing an extension with the Super Rugby outfit.
Melbourne Rebels have announced the re-signing of wing Dom Shipperley for another year.
The contract extension means Shipperley, 25, will remain with Rebels until the end of the 2017 Super Rugby season.
"It's exciting, especially with a couple key playmakers here next year and a couple good friends as well, so it's good to keep the group together," Shipperley said.
"I am really keen to get back on the field, enjoy my rugby and help drive the club."
Shipperley joined Rebels at the start of 2015 and has 63 Super Rugby appearances along with three Wallabies caps to his name.
His re-signing provides a major boost for Rebels, as well as the National Rugby Championship (NRC), which begins this weekend.
"Dom is very highly regarded in our organisation. A smart person and player who brings consistency, balance and professionalism every day," Rebels general manager rugby operations Baden Stephenson said.
"Dom was in great form prior to his injury so we look forward to seeing him return and play an influential role on and off the field in 2017."
Melbourne Rising begin their NRC campaign away to Perth Spirit on Saturday, looking to improve on their semi-final showing in 2015.
