Jacob Lillyman recalled to the Queensland side for the second State of Origin game of the series against New South Wales as a replacement for Nate Myles.
Jacob Lillyman has been recalled to the Queensland side for the second State of Origin game of the series against New South Wales next Wednesday as a replacement for the injured Nate Myles.
Myles will miss the match at Suncorp Stadium due to a knee problem sustained in Manly Sea Eagles' NRL defeat to Penrith Panthers on Sunday.
Experienced New Zealand Warriors prop Lillyman.benefits from Myles' misfortune, coming in for his 12th Origin appearance in the only change to the side which edged the opening game of the three-match series 6-4 at ANZ Stadium at the start of this month.
"He [Myles] had some scans earlier today and those scans showed some damage," Queensland coach Kevin Walters told QRL.com.au.
"Our doctor was of the belief that Nate won't be fit enough to take the field on Wednesday week, which is very sad news for Nate and the Queensland team. But it opens up an opportunity for Jacob to come in from the New Zealand team.
"He was 18th man in Game One and now he gets his opportunity to throw on that Maroons jumper and do it proud."
