State of Origin Ban denies Wade Graham State of Origin debut

Wade Graham suspended for New South Wales Blues State of Origin II debut said: "There are no words to describe how disappointing it is."

Wade Graham will miss out on a maiden State of Origin appearance for New South Wales Blues next week after being found guilty of a careless high tackle in an NRL fixture.

Cronulla Sharks back-rower Graham was set to make his Blues debut on Wednesday, having been selected by coach Laurie Daley in the absence of the injured Boyd Cordner.

However, an NRL judiciary panel ruled on Wednesday that Graham should receive a one-match suspension for his challenge on Johnathan Thurston in Cronulla's 13-10 victory over North Queensland Cowboys on Monday.

"I'm obviously very disappointed I miss out [on my Origin debut]," said Graham following the hearing. "There are no words to describe how disappointing it is."

Blues coach Daley added: "It's disappointing; I thought he had a very good case.

"I feel for Wade. He has waited all his life for this chance and I feel sorry for him that that dream has been taken away from him."

The Blues duly confirmed St George Illawarra Dragons' Tyson Frizell will replace Graham.

Queensland Maroons also confirmed their team for Origin II on Wednesday, Josh McGuire handed a first start with Nate Myles (knee) unavailable.
