NBA championship-winning point guard Patty Mills has arrived in Melbourne, set to play for Australia at the FIBA Oceania Championships.
Patty Mills has answered the call to replace the injured Dante Exum at the FIBA Oceania Championships, arriving in Melbourne on Monday.
Exum was forced to miss the event after sustaining a torn ACL, and the Boomers revealed they had reached out to Mills to see if he could fill the void left by the 20-year-old.
It has been confirmed that Mills agreed to play - and will suit up for the Boomers against New Zealand at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday.
The San Antonio Spurs star was originally omitted from Australia's squad as he continued rehabilitation on his injured shoulder when the Boomers were preparing for the Olympic qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania in Europe.
Utah Jazz prodigy Exum was injured against the Slovenians - paving the way for Mills' 11th-hour call-up.
