Shaunae Miller struggled to describe her emotions after winning a thrilling women's 400 metre final at the Rio Olympics.

The Bahamian fell over the line to hold off American Allyson Felix by 0.07 seconds on Monday.

Miller, who looked certain to be caught before diving, or falling, over the line, said: "This is the moment I have been waiting for, I just gave it my all.

"I am just so happy, so grateful, such emotions I just can't say.

"I've been going through so much this year. Everyone at home will all be celebrating right now."

Jamaica's Shericka Jackson ended up with the bronze medal as one of three to run a sub-50secs.

The 22-year-old was aware of what she had been a part of, saying: "It was a great final, the best I've ever been in."
