NBA commissioner Adam Silver made it clear he wants to see the Hawks remain in Atlanta amid rumours of relocation.
The Atlanta Hawks are up for sale but NBA commissioner Adam Silver remains bullish that the franchise will not be relocated.
Talk of the Hawks moving away from Atalanta has surfaced since the team and the operating rights to Philips Arena were put up for sale a month ago.
The NBA have publicly declared their interest in launching a franchise in Seattle.
But commissioner Silver said in London on Wednesday that the Hawks will stay in Atlanta.
"I do want to see the Hawks stay in Atlanta, and we've made that clear to the market," Silva said ahead of Thursday's clash between the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks at O2 Arena.
"I don't think it will be a real issue because I would be shocked if they were to sell to a group whose intention it was to even seek to transfer the team out of Atlanta."
