Adam Wainwright found some form to lead the St Louis Cardinals to an MLB win, while Bartolo Colon starred for the New York Mets. Wainwright, holding a 5-4 record this season, struck out nine over six innings as the Cardinals edged the Cincinnati Reds 3-2. Colon allowed just one run in seven innings as the Mets claimed a 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Chris Davis brought in the game-winning run as the Baltimore Orioles rallied past the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5. The New York Yankees completed a sweep of the Los Angeles Angels with a 6-3 win and the Colorado Rockies crushed the Pittsburgh Pirates 11-5. The Texas Rangers were 5-3 victors against the Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians beat the Seattle Mariners 5-3.
The Washington Nationals went down to the Chicago White Sox 3-1 and the Miami Marlins thrashed the Minnesota Twins 10-3.

Both Baltimore shortstop Manny Machado (four games) and Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura (nine) are appealing their respective suspensions for Tuesday's fight. As they wait for their appeals to be heard, Machado was in the lineup for the Orioles for Thursday's game in Toronto. He did not take long to make an impact.
