Novak Djokovic begins the French Open against outsider Yen-Hsun Lu, while Serena Williams takes on Magdalena Rybarikova.

Serena Williams will face Magdalena Rybarikova in the first round of the French Open, while Novak Djokovic will start his quest for a first title at Roland Garros against Yen-Hsun Lu.

Williams will get another attempt to equal Steffi Graf's open-era record of 22 grand-slam titles in Paris and the world number one is expected to ease past Slovakian outsider Rybarikova.

The legendary American beat world number 76 Rybarikova, who reached the quarter-finalist at Indian Wells in March, in straight sets in their only previous meeting at the Canadian Masters three years ago.

Williams heads into the clay-court slam on the back of winning the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, her first tournament victory since last August.

The top seed and defending champion could face Ana Ivanovic in the round of 16, with Victoria Azarenka a potential quarter-final opponent.

Rafael Nadal play Rafael Nadal (Omnisports)

Second seed Agnieszka Radwanska takes on Bojana Jovanovski in the first round, while third seed and Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber starts against Kiki Bertens.

Djokovic is out to complete the career Grand Slam and should have too much for world number 100 Lu, with Tomas Berdych a possible opponent for the top seed and world number one in the last eight.

Andy Murray, seeded two, has been drawn against a qualifier, with reigning champion Stan Wawrinka starting his defence against Lukas Rosol and fourth seed Rafael Nadal facing Sam Groth in the first round.

Wawrinka could come up against Milos Raonic in the quarter-finals, with Murray - fresh from beating Djokovic to win his first title in Rome on Sunday - facing the prospect of meeting world number six Kei Nishikori in the last eight.
