Top seed Novak Djokovic eased into the final of the French Open with a devastating straight-sets victory over Dominic Thiem on Friday.
The world number one oozed class as he blew Thiem away, treating a boisterous crowd on Court Suzanne-Lenglen to a masterclass and winning 6-2 6-1 6-4 to set up a showdown with Andy Murray or Stan Wawrinka on Sunday.
Djokovic was at his magnificent best and is just one victory away from completing a career Grand Slam following an imperious performance against the rising star from Austria.
Thiem, playing in his first grand slam semi-final, was unable to stop the Djokovic juggernaut as the clinical Serb coasted into his fourth final at Roland Garros - and a third in a row.
Djokovic had won his previous two matches against Thiem without dropping a set and the rampant favourite raced into a 3-0 lead, putting the 22-year-old under immense pressure in a blistering start on the Paris clay.
The 11-time grand-slam champion had break points in each of Thiem's service games and won another to wrap up the set as the underdog, who will move into the top 10 next week, was made to pay for a host of unforced errors.
Djokovic executed his full repertoire of shots, while remaining stubborn in defence to teach Thiem a harsh lesson, going two sets up in a flash after breaking twice in the second set.
Thiem responded defiantly with his first break and led 3-0 in the third set, but Djokovic came roaring back and went 4-3 up after coming up with an incredible forehand winner on the run before the youngster netted to go a break down.
The irrepressible Djokovic was relentless as he finished off the job, sealing a hugely impressive victory when Thiem put a backhand wide after failing to win a break point to prolong the match.
