The MLB regular season came to a close on Sunday and already the Chicago White Sox will be making changes to their staff following another disappointing season.

Robin Ventura will not return for a sixth season as White Sox manager, he revealed to reporters after a 6-3 home loss to the Twins.

Bench coach Rick Renteria is expected to take his place, according to multiple reports, and a formal announcement could be made as soon as Monday.

"I just feel it's the right thing," Ventura told reporters. "It's more of a personal decision than anything."

Ventura was in the final year of a deal that began before the start of the 2012 season. He finishes his managerial career with the White Sox with a 375-435 record over five seasons.

After just missing the playoffs in 2012, Chicago suffered a fourth consecutive losing season and eighth straight year without a playoff berth.

"I enjoy this place, love this place," Ventura said. "It needs a new voice."

Renteria previously managed the Chicago Cubs to a 73-89 record during a rebuilding year in 2014.
