According to PGA’s October ranking Oche is ahead of Ghanaian Vincent Torgah despite his poor outing at the association’s event.
According to PGA’s October ranking posted on its portal, Oche is ahead of Ghanaian Vincent Torgah of Tema Golf Club, his poor outing at the association’s event in Oturkpo, Benue, notwithstanding.
Tournament Director, Uche Ezeh, explained that Oche has had two strong finishes in early events that still kept him at the number one spot.
“I think it has been a strong year for Odoh on the Nigerian Tour; we might not have had many events so far because of the economic condition.
”But Odoh’s game has been near perfect; he won all the events he featured in except the last one,” Ezeh said.
However, Odoh will not be defending his number one spot in Nigeria at the PGA’s next event at Air Assault Golf Club.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the country’s number one golfer has chosen to be at the Lion of Africa Cape Town Open.
“My goal is to improve my world ranking and that is what is offered herein,’’ Odoh said.
Therefore, a good show by competitors will displace him from the top of the rankling next week at the Air Assault Golf Club event.
Among golfers itching to displace Odoh were Torgah Odegha (Minna Cantonment Golf Club), Sunday Olapade (Asaba Golf Club), Ayisah Lucky and Emos Korblah (Achimota Golf Club) and host Mike Ubi.
Jide Bolaji, PGA tournament coordinator, explained that the Tour is very dynamic.
“Expect a shock win at the Air Assault Open next week,’’ he said
