Goalkeeper hits back at Oliseh

Enyeama quit the national team after clashing with Sunday Oliseh at the Super Eagles base in Belgium

Former Super Eagles captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has hit back at Sunday Oliseh’s claim that he's a troublesome person.

Enyeama quit the national team after clashing with Oliseh at the Super Eagles base in Belgium, the Hotel Verviers.

Just hours after Super Eagles' Thursday, October 8, 0-2 defeat to Congo, Oliseh sat down with Super Eagles media officer Oluwatoyin Ibitoye to clear up the reports about the clash between him and Enyeama.

He accused the goalkeeper of always having problems with coaches of the national team.

"Enyeama also had problems with who kicked him out of the team," Oliseh said.

"I remember he was supposed to be number one in in the 2008 but was dropped because of his attitude we cannot continue like this," Oliseh conluded.

Enyeama however revealed that he never had problems with any Nigerian coach including the German who coached the Super Eagles for one year between 2007 and 2008.

“I didn't have a problem with Chief Onibginde, Chukwu, Equavon, Berti vogts, Keshi,”  Enyeama wrote on Instagram.

“Under Berti Vogts, I WAS INJURED. it was a match against Ugandan that we won 1/0 and the coach decided to stick toafter that match because Ejide had a great game.”

He further stated that his decision to retire is in the best interest of the country.

“My decision to quit the national team is for the best interest of the nation,” Enyeama continued.

“I don't want to be the reason that Nigerian football house is divided.

“I want Nigeria to get back up to where it belongs.

“It’s a professional decision made for the blessing of the nation,” Enyeama said.
