19-year-old Udogie scores in back-to-back games for Udinese
Isaac Success and Destiny Udogie helped Udinese return to winning ways in style in the Serie A.
Udogie netted the fourth goal of the game for a remarkable evening for Udinese in Florence, where Success played for 67 minutes but failed to add to his goal tally this season but couldn't repeat his heroics from the previous match.
After the 2-2 draw with Bologna the last time, Udinese put on a show against the formidable Fiorentina side to put an end to their run of three matches without a win.
Pablo Mari opened the floodgates with an excellent left-footed strike in the 12th minute before Gérard Deulofeu doubled the advantage to give them a comfortable lead at the break.
In the second half, despite both chances coming close to adding to the scoreline on several coaches, it wasn't until stoppage time did another goal arrive.
Udinese were the ones who dramatically ended the game with two late goals from Wallace and Udogie to wrap up the convincing victory.
For the Italian born defender of Nigerian descent, Udogie, 19, his goal took his tally this season to four goals, with an assist to his name.
Udogie, Silverstri emerge star performers in a quiet outing for Success
Nigeria's Isaac Success had a quiet outing for Udinese at Fiorentina. Success spent 66 minutes on the pitch but failed to add to his two goals and seven assists for Udinese this season.
The 26-year-old, who has found his form this season and is enjoying football once again in the Serie A, was outshone by his teammates Udogie and goalkeeper, Marco Silverstri.
While Udogie was amongst the goals, Silverstri ensured Fiorentina failed to register a consolation goal as he inspired Udinese to a first clean sheet since February 6, 2022.
The 32-year-old made a remarkable seven saves, all from the box as he stopped everything the host threw at him.
However, he was beaten to the man of the match award by his 19-year-old teammate, Udogie, who scored a goal, hit the woodwork once, won the most tackles (3) and attempted four shots on goal.
