The Baggies have completed the seventh signing of the season with the acquisition of Australian defender Jason Davidson; the player who was part of the Socceroos team to the World Cup in Brazil completed the move from Dutch first division side Heracles Almelo for an undisclosed fee,he has penned a two year deal with the Hawthorns club.

Irvine said regarding the latest transfer:

He appealed that the player be given enough time to exhibit his importance at the club

“Due to contractual issues with his former club, there’s been a delay in Jason coming. This means he hasn’t trained properly since the World Cup so he’s going to need a little bit of time to catch up before we can expect him to perform at the levels he’s capable of.''

Irvine disclosed that the player was brought in based on the recommendation of another Socceroo, Tim Cahill

Baggies coach Alan Irvine now has the services of Craig Gardner, Joleon Lescott, Chris Baird, Sebastien Pocognoli,Andre Wisdom, Victor Anichebe and record breaking sign-on Brown Ideye to execute the 2014/2015 EPL season.
