Kanu tore through the Chelsea defence to score a memorable hat-trick for Arsenal in October 1999

 

On #ThrowBackThursday today, we bring you Kanu Nwankwo's magnificent hat-trick which destroyed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October 1999.

Then defending Premiership champions Arsenal were down by two headed goals by Chelsea's Tore Andre Flo and Dan Petrescu.

Kanu Nwankwo who was a second half substitute delivered a stunning second half hat-trick to sink Chelsea.

Kanu rattled in goals in the 75th, 83rd and 90th minutes to seal victory in one of Arsenal's finest moments in history.

Important goals like these were one of the reasons former Arsenal Chairman David Dein described Kanu as undefined.
