Taiwo also hinted that he might have secured a move to another club in the country after his stint with HJK Helsinki.
Taiwo joined HJK Helsinki in August 2015 and extended the contract at the club in October.
Now, after the end of the 2016 football season in Finland, the former AC Milan left-back announced his departure from the club.
The 31-year-old took to his Instagram after HJK Helsinki’s final league game on Sunday, October 24 to thank fans and officials of the club.
“First of all, it a thank you to the football club for Helsinki" not just the director, not just the medical staff,the coaching staff ' the players, the suppporters ,it's all of you,” the former Super Eagles defender wrote on his Instagram.
“If asked to write a script for my career 12 years ago, there is no way I would,ve been able to dream up this journey, I started here at the end of this ride and look back in awe of what l,ve experienced.
“The wins losses will be remembered , but what I,ll remember most are the people:the fans inside sonera stadium and out the staff and coaches who pushed me and held me together,the teammates) and even opponents)who will be lifelong friends,shares my ups and downs with family and close friends, and most importantly, the snapshots of my kids growing up and reading in watching Dad work.
“That is what I will cherish the most.today I say of good bye to the football club of Hjkhelsinki " I want to thank the club for helping me become a better footballer and making me and my family feel at home during my time here.
“After this year I can only say thank you the club, to the fans that have supported me since the first Day I wore this this jersey and of course thank you and good luck to my teammates, who helped me settle in since day one not only as teammates but as friends.
“I take with me many memories, lessons and great moments that will live with me forever. Yes , it is time to say goodbye and face new challenges.”
Taiwo also hinted that he might have secured a move to another club in the country although not much is known about that at the moment.
“I am moving forward to a new country,to another great club with amazing fans and I am looking forward to it,” he further wrote before adding “but the time spent with you,as well as the happiness and love that I felt there will always stay with me.
