The Black Queens, however, pose a greater threat and are looking to shock the Super Falcons.

The Super Falcons came out tops again in 2002 edition and also beat their Ghanaian counterparts 1-0 in the final of the 2006 AWCON played in Warri, Delta State.

Black Queens beat Kenya 3-1 in the other Group B game and coach Yusif Basigi is talking tough ahead of the Wednesday showdown against Nigeria.

Any team at this competition are worthy of being crowned champions and we don’t have to be underrated,” Basigi told CAF website after their win over Kenya.

Ghana versus Nigeria is always a different ball game. They massacred Mali 6-0 but it doesn’t mean that they will massacre Ghana.”

The Black Stars won Gold medal in the Women’s football event of 2015 All Africa Games which the Super Falcons didn’t qualify for.

Against Nigeria, I think we need to up our game a little bit,” Basigi is quoted to say by Football Ghana as saying on Monday.

Nigeria shouldn’t underestimate us at all, because when these two countries meet in football, it could go either side, hence we’ll really be determined to shock them and progress to the next stage.”
