The Super Eagles of Nigeria are billed to face the Desert Foxes of Algeria in an international friendly on Tuesday, September 27 at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran, Algeria by 8 pm Nigerian time.

This would be the third time both sides would meet in the last four years with the North Africans having won the past two matches in 2019 and 2020.

Ahead of the latest international break, the Super Eagles squad was hit with a swathe of players pulling out due to due and other concerns.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Real Sociedad's Umar Sadiq, Villarreal's Samuel Chukwueze, and Nottingham Forest's Emmanuel Dennis are some of the players who could not join the squad while Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi and Watford's William Troost-Ekong both picked up injuries while in camp.

However, Peseiro has stated that he is only focused on the players available to him for selection at the moment, as they are good enough to put up a fight.

"The players not here for us are not important. The ones here are the important players and we believe in them," Peseiro told the press after Monday's training session as reported by aclsports.

"I have confidence in them and they know what they must do tomorrow. I have good players and a good squad and we hope to fight for a good result."

The Portuguese tactician also added that he and the players have worked on new methods to be deployed against the Djamel Belmadi-led Algerian side in their upcoming friendly.

Peseiro explained: "We have trained well for the game. We’ve tried to introduce some dynamics, some methodologies and some exercises so we look forward for the best as the players have done the maximum they can do on the pitch and off the pitch.

“Tomorrow, we play against a good team, strong team but we have to fight to beat them. We know it is not going to be easy, we know their players but we have the quality to fight with Algeria."

The Super Eagles earlier played a 2-2 draw with the home-based Algerian national team on Friday, September 23 with Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi and Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers grabbing the goals for Peseiro's side.
