Sokoto rejoices as Shehu Abdullahi looking for a new club opted to have a kick about with school kids.
Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Shehu Abdullahi took some time off to interact with school kids.
On Thursday, June 23, 2022 Abdullahi posted photos with school kids on his official Instagram account.
The 29-year-old who recently welcomed a baby with his partner posed for photos with students of Brilliant Footsteps International Academy in Sokoto State.
Shehu is known to be a philanthropist and involved in the development of Sokoto State.
Abdullahi who recently had a meeting with Sokoto State governor His Excellency, Aminu Tambuwal posted a message along with the photos.
The message by Abdullahi said, "I had fun with the kids at Brilliant Footsteps International Academy in Sokoto State.
"They are the future of this country and our dear State. Impressed by their passion for Football, and Education. Kudos to the leadership of the school."
Abdullahi is a free agent without a club after he announced his departure from Omonia Nicosia.
The statement about his departure from Omonia said, "I am honoured to play for Omonia, in two years we have been able to create history.
"For decades titles were missing in Omonia and I am glad in two years, we won three titles and restored the pedigree of the club.
"This is not a goodbye message, but to say we will see in the future.
"I appreciate the management, coaches, backroom staff, and my teammates for the amazing memories we shared.
"To Omonia fans, I appreciate your support and love, I had an amazing memories. Wishing Omonia success in future endeavors."
Abdullahi who featured for the Super Eagles in the 10-0 thrashing of Sao Tome and Principe departs Omonia after helping the club win the 2021/22 Cypriot Cup.
