Dutch legend Ruud Gullit has come down hard on Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder over his recent defensive personnel decisions for Ajax matches.
Don't sacrifice Calvin Bassey for Daley Blind! - Gullit blasts Ajax coach
Ruud Gullit suggested that it is time to bench Ajax captain Daley Blind

After recent defensive frailties, Schreuder has experimented with playing Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey in a left-back role and moved Ajax captain Daley Blind to the centre of the defence.
Bassey started his career as a left-back at Scottish giants Rangers before switching to centre-back and getting signed by Ajax to replace Manchester United-bound Lisandro Martinez.
It seems Daley Blind must always play - Gullit
However, Dutch legend Gullit has roundly criticised Bassey's deployment to play as a left-back in order to accommodate Blind's return to the centre of the defence.
As reported by Daily Record, Gullit alleged that the recent move is an attempt to ensure that Ajax captain Blind keeps getting into the team.
Gullit said: "It sometimes seems like he has to play (Blind). It seems that everything is being turned to make him play. That's how I see it.
"At one point I saw that he was back in the centre against Napoli, so that Calvin Bassey suddenly had to play as left back."
Gullit questions Blind's defensive ability
The former Chelsea defender suggested that Blind is very good with the ball at his feet, but he is not so good at fulfilling his defensive responsibilities.
"Blind is one of the best players on the ball, but defensively… It's hard for him right now. It seems like a place has to be created for him. It seems that way," Gullit explained.
Ajax won their last Dutch Eredivisie match, defeating Excelsior 7-1 at the Johan Cruyff Arena with Bassey bagging one (1) assist while Blind was taken off at half-time for Owen Wijndal.
