Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq is in line to further increase his goal tally in the Spanish La Liga this season after joining Real Sociedad from Almeria on transfer deadline day.

The Nigerian international continued his rich vein of form on Saturday, scoring on his debut for Real Sociedad in a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old forward is on a three-match scoring streak, having scored in the last two league matches he played for Almeria.

Following his debut goal for Real Sociedad, Sadiq's new manager Imanol Alguacil is certain that the former Roma player can deliver for his side after arriving to replace Alexander Isak.

As reported by Tribal Football, Alguacil also hailed the Super Eagles star for putting his tall frame to good use in the forward areas for Real Sociedad.

Umar Sadiq's manager said about him: “He can give us a goal. It has been seen as soon as he entered. He performs very well in those forward positions, where he uses his body very well."

More goals are to be expected from the new Real Sociedad striker as Alguacil noted that the Real Sociedad team have players who can deliver the ammunition that Umar Sadiq needs to score more goals.

"We have players behind to give him good goal situations and hopefully we can be successful in front of goal, because that's what we lack," Alguacil said.

Real Sociedad have the likes of former Manchester City creator-in-chief David Silva in midfield as well as Mikel Merino and former Real Madrid pair Asier Illarramendi, and Takefusa Kubo.

Real Sociedad are currently ninth on the La Liga table, having tallied seven (7) points from their first four league matches this season.
