Super Eagles legend Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has shed more light on his famous 1993 goal against former German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn in the Bundesliga.

Okocha scored arguably the best goal in Bundesliga history when his then club Eintracht Frankfurt played against Khan's Karlsruhe in the German league.

Okocha dummied and dribbled Khan and four other Karlsruhe defenders before slotting the ball into the back of the net to give his side the victory.

Almost 30 years after his wonder goal, Okocha has revealed further details about the goal and why he chose to dribble past Oliver Kahn in the Karlsruhe post.

As reported by SkySports, Okocha stated that he did not plan to score a goal in that manner and he was only trying to shake off Khan when he dribbled him.

Okocha said: "It just took longer than I expected. It wasn't planned, you know. It was a counter-attack and when I got the ball, I had the goalkeeper in front of me, so I pretended as if I was going to shoot to get rid of him, but he didn't want to go away."

The 1996 Olympic Gold medal winner went on to explain that he also dribbled the Karlsruhe defenders just in a bid to create an opening to get his shot away.

"As I was trying to dribble him, some defenders got back. All I was trying to do was to find that gap to take the shot and, fortunately, for me, I managed to get that," Okocha explained.

Being only his third goal in top-flight football, the goal against Oliver Kahn and Karlsruhe shot Okocha into the limelight with the Nigerian international earning moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Bolton Wanderers amongst others later in his career.
