Ahmed Musa comes on to help Fatih Karagumruk to a thrilling win against Kasimpasa

The Nigerian international was a second-half substitute as the Black Red moved up to ninth on the table in the Turkish top-flight.

Ahmed Musa

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa came on in the second half as Fatih Karagümrük defeated Kasimpasa in a thrilling encounter at the Ataturk Stadium.

Musa had started sixteen league games this season. Still, he found himself on the bench on Saturday morning as Fatih aimed to bounce back from their 2-0 loss to Galatasaray last time out.

Going into the game on Saturday, Musa had scored two goals and provided two assists in his previous 24 league games, but the home side did not need his services in the opening half of the game.

Volkan Demirel's men took the lead in the 31st minute through Adnan Ugur before Aleksandar Pesic doubled the advantage seven minutes before the break.

At that point, Fatih were in a comfortable position as they went into the break with a two-goal lead.

The second half resumed with Kasimpasa trying to find a way to get back into the game, but they met a well-organised Fatih side.

Although Fatih were comfortable for most parts of the match, it did not stop Demirel from adding more bite to their attack, bringing on Musa in the 63rd-minute.

But the change did not initially work out as planned, as Kasimpasa got back into the game with a strike from Tarkan Serbest in the 67th-minute.

However, Musa's arrival finally paid off as Fatih restored their two-goal lead through Kristijan Bistrovic in the 71st-minute.

In his 25 minutes on the pitch, Musa had a 90% pass accuracy, while he also made two successful long balls.

Bistrovic's goal did not kill off Kasimpasa's hopes, though, as they pulled one back again through Jackson Muleka in the 82nd-minute to set up a nervy finish.

Nonetheless, Fatih were able to see out the game for a valuable three points.
