According to a consultant to the NFF, Tunde Adelakun, the federation has almost reached agreements with some countries for the friendly games.

It is painful that the Super Eagles will not be featuring at the Africa Cup of Nations but that does not mean that they will be idle during the period of AFCON in January/February 2017,” Adelakun told Complete Sports.

The Eagles will be busy before our next World Cup game in August because we shall exploit the IFA windows in March and June.

We are talking to some European and African countries to give us friendly games in March and June and I can assure you that we shall organise some top quality friendly matches for Super Eagles.

Nigeria lead the group with three points, Algeria and Cameroon joint-second with a point each while Zambia are bottom with zero points.

The winner of the group automatically qualifies for the 2018 FIFA World Cup holding in Russia.
