Croatian Coach Zlatko Dalic is wary of the young and hungry Super Eagles.
Dalic gave his opinion about Croatia's group opponents at the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup, in an interview with FIFA's website.
The former Al Ain coach described Argentina as one of the tournament favourites and Iceland as a team he knows well.
He said "Well, Iceland were the best team in our group. We know them very well and had a tough loss against them in Reykjavik. Argentina are obviously one of the favourites to win the World Cup."
Dalic went further by describing the Super Eagles as a team with potential
"I see Nigeria as a young, potent and hungry team with great potential." he said
The former defensive midfielder stressed the importance of the opening clash against Nigeria, just as Croatian defender Vedran Corluka.
He said "That first match against Nigeria is very important, it will set the tone for the rest of our tournament."
Dalic went on in his interview to highlight the importance of skipper Luka Modric to his team and preparations for the World Cup.
"Once again, it showed how important Luka is for Real Madrid. He played brilliant football, and in my opinion, was the best player in that tournament by far. As for Croatia, he is our best player - he's the engine that makes us go."
"I plan to travel and meet with players and their club coaches, to talk about their status and form. I am focused on only choosing fully fit players, and they know that." Dalic said
