Stephen Keshi tops 10 most searched Nigerian sportsperson on Google

Enyeama, Blessing Okagbare fall out of top five for most searched Nigerian Sports personality

The controversy around Nigeria’s participation in the 2014 World Cup, coaching contract saga and failure to qualify for the 2015African Cup of Nations tournament in Equatorial Guinea has made 52 year-old Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi as the most searched Nigeria sports personality.

Keshi who since the World Cup ended in July has been on the lips of the Nigerian football community is currently broiled in fresh controversy regarding his return to the national team which many consider as shameless and unruly

Google in its 2014 round of most searches in all categories listed the two time AFCON winner ahead of National team players; Ikechukwu Uche and former Rangers winger, Ejike Uzoenyi.

2014 Commonwealth Games double Gold medalist, Blessing Okagbare surprisingly did not come in top five as she was toppled into seventh and Enyeama is sixth.

Keshi’s issues may have also contributed to Nigeria's Super Eagles ranking as the most searched national football team with the Black Stars of Ghana and World Cup 2014 host Brazil's Samba Boys coming third.
