Months back, it was rumoured that Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi; before the battle that ravelled Nigerian Football wanted, an improved contract of 15 Million Naira monthly salary, and this was after he was hailed for the country’s (un)Impressive display at the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

Earlier claims by a member of the NFF that Stephen Keshi will sign a new contract may have been confirmed with news filtering in that a N7m monthly deal has been agreed by all parties.
Consequent to his request, members of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, debunked that and instead offered him a N7m monthly deal which Stephen Keshi and his board rejected.

Despite his failure to lead Nigeria in defence the title they won in 2013 to AFCON 2015, and days after a member of the NFF disclosed that 52 year-old Stephen Keshi ; he agreed to the N7m monthly salary deal which will see him earn N84M for the year of 2015 as the contract takes effect in January of next year.
Reactions have followed the new development with strong criticism from ex-international, Garba Lawal who insists that the two time AFCON winner is not a competent coach for the Super Eagles.
