Sunday Oliseh said all the players will be duly assessed for injuries when training resumes
Ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations clash against Tanzania next month, Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has revealed that only kit players will be picked for the game.
Oliseh has picked just six home based players from the 17 that have been training in camp; these six will join the the 18 foreign based stars that are expected to hit camp soon.
While speaking to Complete Sports, Oliseh said all the players will be duly assessed for injuries when training resumes on Tuesday, September 1 in Abuja.
“We will assess every player before the game and only fit players will be listed to represent the country,” Oliseh said.
“Lukman missed two games with Anzhi Makhachkala because of suspension and that makes him fresh going into this game while Obi will be assessed when he comes.
Oliseh was at the Shooting Stars 2-0 NPFL victory over Abia Warriors at the Adamansingba Stadium on Sunday, August 30.
Speaking about the league, Oliseh said:
“It’s very different now because I played in the league and watched the league occasionally as an ex-player but now as a coach it will be unfair to judge them but both teams showed glimpses of brilliance.
“Abia Warriors were a handful for 3SC even if the Ibadan team profited from a defensive error, that’s not to say that 3SC didn’t deserve to win.”
