SWAN to hold farewell match for former Super Eagles coaches
Nigerian football last month experienced the shocking deaths of both legendary coaches who led the Super Eagles several times in their career.
Keshi who led Nigeria to two African Cup of Nations title-one as a captain and the other as a coach- died on Wednesday, June 8 from suspected cardiac arrest while Amodu died three days later on Saturday, June 11.
According to Rafiu Ladipo, President-General of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, the farewell match will be played on Saturday, July 23 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
“The Farewell Testimonial match would see the Super Eagles players battle against Lagos All Stars team in the main match of the day, while the curtain raiser would be a game between the Lagos SWAN team and the Supporters Club,” Ladipo said in a statement.
Ladipo also revealed that there will also be a musical concert featuring top Nigerian artistes and stand-up comic acts.
