Stephen Keshi, Shaibu Amodu NFF promise to immortalise Nigerian coaching legends

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have revealed that they are putting in their best to ensure that Nigerian late coaching legends, Stephen Keshi and Shaibu Amodu are immortalised.

Nigerian football in June lost both legendary coaches who led the Super Eagles several times in their career.

Keshi who led Nigeria to two African Cup of Nations title-one as a captain and the other as a coach- died on Wednesday, June 8 of from suspected cardiac arrest while Amodu died three days later on Saturday, June 11.

NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi reiterated NFF’s commitment to see that the late coaches are properly honoured.

Sanusi said this on Thursday, July 21 while receiving the newly appointed National Technical Director,  Bitrus Bewarang at his office.

The NFF is liaising with the Government through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, with regards to the immortalization of the two icons of our football who died last month. Both men contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria football and will never be forgotten,” NFF General Secretary told the body’s official website.

The NFF Board has immense confidence in your person that you will be able to fit quite well into the shoes left by late Coach Amodu and perhaps come up with great ideas to enhance the workings of the Technical department,” Sanusi told Bewarang, who is also president of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association.

The Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung had revealed that a national monument would be name after the late Keshi.
