Solomon Dalung Sports minister reveals plans have began for 2020 Olympics

Solomon Dalung has asked respective heads of federations to submit their plans for the next Olympics holding in Japan in the year 2020.

According to Nigeria's Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, plans have began in preparation for the 2020 Olympics set to take place in Japan.

Dalung revealed this via a Facebook post where he expressed his concerns over the poor performance of the country in major competitions.

He has asked the presidents of respective federations to send in their plan for the anticipated event, as it is all about preparedness and swift action.

 “We have started preparations for Tokyo 2020 already, I am concerned about our present performance across all the federations which has explained how poor we have done in the past 3 years before I came in as a minister."

“I am barely 9 months in office and preparation of 4 years event couldn’t had been made in such a space of time."

“I have asked presidents of the various federations to submit their plans for Tokyo 2020 Olympics even before we left to Rio Olympics.”

Currently Nigeria has not won any medal at the ongoing 2016 Rio Olympics hosted by Brazil.

The country's main chance of winning one is the men category of the football competition, which has seen them perform very good.

That chance has been dampened after the Dream Team IV lost two nil to Germany in the semi-final.
