After trials and meetingwith Arsene Wenger, Nigeria youth international Samuel Chukwueze is set to snub Arsenal for Porto.
Chukwueze was impressive for the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria as they won the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile and has also become a regular for the Flying Eagles.
According to the UK Sun, Arsenal has backed out of the move to sign Chukwueze due to the transfer fee.
Diamond Academy’s valuation of the player was way higher than that of Arsenal and both parties could not agree on a price.
Porto now have emerged favourite to sign him as they are ready to splash the cash
French club Monaco were also interested in the player but he personally favours a move to Portugal.
“Chukwueze is going to FC Porto not Monaco,' President of Diamond Academy Martin Apugo said.
“They are waiting for him to sign the papers but he couldn’t travel because he is with the Flying Eagles.
“We don’t know the length of contract he will sign until we get to Portugal.”
