NFF dispel coach’s sack rumours

NFF denies reports that they are about to sack coach of the U-23 team, Samson Siasia

Former Eagles coach Samson Siasia helped Nigeria secure its first ever victory against Argentina at the Abuja National stadium and he says it was determination that helped the team win.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have dispelled reports that they are planning to sack the coach of the U-23 team, Samson Siasia.

A member of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh told that the NFF have no intentions of doing that.

“There has never been a time we in the technical committee or at the executive committee level discussed any such thing,” Fresh told Vanguard.

“I am a member of both committees and never has that come up for discussion.”

According to a report a query was issued to the coach by the NFF and have been asked to explain why he should not be sanctioned.

Fresh however admitted that Siasia was queried after what was taken as an affront against his employers.

“Siasia was queried and he has since answered to the query. It is a normal administrative procedure which should not call for speculations that are unfounded.

“There is no intention to sack Siasia,” he repeated.
