Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves has questioned Arsenal's jubilations in the aftermath of the Gunners' Thursday night victory.

Arsenal recorded an away 1-0 victory over Bruno Lage's Wolves side courtesy of Gabriel Magalhaes' 25th-minute goal as Mikel Arteta's side closed the gap on fourth-placed West Ham United to just one point with two games in hand.

In his post-match comments, Neves stated that the way Arsenal celebrated the win at full-time shows how far the Wolves team has improved under Bruno Lage.

"We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are. I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years - it was like they won the league," Neves said.

The Portuguese midfielder also stated his frustration at refereeing inconsistencies, alleging that a foul might have occurred in the build-up to Gabriel's goal.

Neves explained: "With their goal, there is some doubt about whether it was a foul or not but that's football. We are used to these decisions.

"I can accept the decision about their goal but in some games they give it and in some games, they don't. They need to do the same decisions in every game because it's frustrating for us."

The Portugal international believes that Lage's side is playing football but keep struggling with scoring goals and defending set-pieces.

"We did well but we are struggling to score goals and conceding a lot on set-pieces. We need to improve a lot on scoring goals because we are creating chances but we're not good enough in that part of the game," Neves concluded.

Arsenal got back to winning ways in the Premier League after dropping points in two consecutive games (Manchester City & Burnley) on the back of the four-match winning run in December.
