71.4%of the voters in a Pulse Sports poll voted John Terry as the 'greatest defender of the English Premier League era'
Chelsea defender and captain John Terry has been voted the 'greatest defender of the English Premier League era' by Pulse Sports reader.
From a poll which was published a week ago on Pulse Sports , 71.4% of the voters voted the Chelsea captain as 'greatest defender of the English Premier League' era.
Joint second on the poll is former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville and ex-Chelsea centre back Ricardo Carvalho who had 10.7% of the voters.
Another former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic came third on the poll with 7.1% of the voters.
The rest names on the list, Jaap Stam, Lucas Radebe, Rio Ferdinand, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole and Vincent Kompany- all had zero votes.
Terry made his Chelsea debut in October 1998, coming in as a late substitute in a League Cup tie with Aston Villa.
He was named Chelsea captain by Jose Mourinho in 2004 and has won four Premier League titles, five FA Cup titles, three League Cup, one UEFA Champions League and one UEFA Europa League with the London club.
