Chelsea are now in pole position to sign Pedro after hijacking Manchester United's move for the forward
Chelsea have hijacked Manchester United's move for Barcelona forward Pedro and are poised to seal a £21.1million deal with Barcelona.
Manchester United have been after the forward all summer but have reportedly pulled out after learning that the Spain International is interested in a move to London.
Manchester City and Chelsea have been monitoring the situation but the English Premier League champions moved in quickly after their dismal start to the season.
Chelsea according to Daily Mail will pay £19million up front to Barcelona for Pedro and the 28-year-old will be reunited with former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro will hold his medicals on Wednesday with Chelsea's Spanish doctor Paco Biosca monitoring events.
According to reports, Jose Mourinho personally spoke to Pedro to convince him that he is needed at Chelsea.
It is a surprise turn of event for Pedro who previously informed a fan that he will be moving to Manchester United some weeks ago.
The fan asked the forward about his reported move to Manchester United and she burst into tears when he admitted that he will be making the move.
