Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo is attracting the interest of Serie A side, Napoli who have been keeping tabs on Watford player.

Ighalo was Watford’s highest goalscorer last season, a feat which earned him a new five-year-contract at the club.

He has however been off form this season, scoring just one goal and has been replaced in the team by his compatriot, Isaac Success.

Ighalo has twice snubbed several offers from China to remain with Watford.

The 27-year-old in February 2016 revealed that he lost sleep over a huge offer from China that could have earned him £40million over four years.

Hebei China Fortune repeatedly came back with a bigger offer anytime he turned them down but Ighalo rejected them to remain in England with Watford.

"I was very close; they made a £10m bid and were offering me over £200,000 a week; a four-year contract. I couldn’t sleep for three days," the Super Eagles striker told Daily Mail in a recent interview.

"That kind of money is not easy to turn down. Some team-mates in the dressing room were saying, “You can’t miss this chance”. But I don’t jump into decisions like that."
