Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo has stated that Nigeria will deliver at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Super Eagles booked a spot at the continental tournament after a 1-1 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa with one group game left to play.
The result meant the Super Eagles will compete against Africa's best for the first time since 2013.
Ighalo who is Nigeria's top scorer in the qualification campaign has assured that the team will go to the tournament to compete for the trophy.
The 29-year-old forward made his opinion known in an interview with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
He said , “Whether the championship is held in Egypt or South Africa, we will be ready. We have the advantage of having been together for sometime now, with the bulk of the team having played at the World Cup.
"Qualifying for the AFCON has also made us believe very much in our ability and of course, the Nigerian Spirit is always there to propel us in difficult times.
“We are all aware of what Nigerians expect from us. We will prepare hard and strive to deliver."
Ighalo who got relegated with Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League (CSL) is expected to return to the Super Eagles for the final qualifier against Seychelles and friendly against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
