The Captain of Heartland FC of Owerri, Chinedu Efugh, said on Monday that his team’s victory against MFM FC of Lagos would encouraged them to work harder.
Our victory will encourage us to work harder - Efugh
A goal from Fortune Omoniwari gave the club an edge and the much-needed three points after the club lost an away match 1-0 in favour of Abia Warriors.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Naze millionaires defeated MFM FC 1-0 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri at the weekend.
"We have been working hard to achieve this victory and we will not relent because we need to sustain the momentum.
"Our victory will encourage us to work harder. We will not dwell on it so that it does not get into our heads. We can be better,’’ Efugh said.
On motivation, the defender told NAN that the management of the club had played a significant role by continually encouraging the players and coaches.
"No player that is well-motivated will get to the pitch and play nonsense. We owe our success to our management and our fans.
"We promise to get back to our winning ways, more away victories, we know with our dedication it is achievable,’’ the captain said.
Heartland is currently 15th on the Nigeria Premier League log, with eight points from six matches.
