Niger Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Sports Development, Mamman Bosso, on Thursday commended Niger Tornadoes FC for working hard to remain in the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL).

Bosso disclosed this during an interactive session  with members of the state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Minna.

“They tried their best, it was hard work all the way, bearing in mind that the team played her home matches away in neighbouring Lokoja, Kogi state capital.

“I must commend the Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna for a good outing in the 2015/2016 NPFL season. Playing home matches away from home must have been difficult.

“We are making efforts to ensure that the state football club returns home for next season`s campaign in the league,” he said.

Bosso commended the management of the club for ensuring that the team remained in top flight football of the country.

The commissioner appealed to supporters of the club to be patient as government was working hard to ensure that the team begins the NPFL campaign for next season in Minna.

He said that the team would be restructured and made more professional for improved performance next season.

According to him, we are making  efforts to ensure that the club play her home matches at the Bako Kontagora Memorial stadium, Minna.

He assured that government would continue to give priority to the team and other sports in the state.
