Plateau United return to the top of the table with a hard-fought 1-0 win over visiting Wikki Tourists courtesy of a Reuben Bala penalty in the 57th minute.
They knock off MFM FC off the top of the NPFL table as the Lagos-based side were thrashed 4-0 away at Nasarawa United.
At the Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa United scored in the first minute through Adamu Hassan before Yinka Onaolapo, Anthony Oussou and Abdulrahman Bashir added a goal each to get the comprehensive victory.
Akwa United thumped Shooting Stars 4-2 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium with Alhassan Ibrahim netting an impressive hat-trick.
Ubong Friday gave the host the lead in the 11th minute before Ibrahim’s hattrick.
Moses James and Taiwo Shittu scored in the 58th and 90th minute respectively to reduce the deficit for Shooting Stars.
Rivers United’s miserable form continued with a 1-0 loss away at Gombe United. Idris Bakare netted the winner for Gombe United in the 26th minute before he was sent off for a second bookable offence in the dying minutes of the game.
