Just before the international break, a host of Nigerian players were in action for their respective clubs.

We review some of the performances of Nigerian players abroad.

In England

We start in England where Super Eagles stars Victor Moses of Chelsea clashed with Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho for the semi-final spot of the FA Cup.

Moses and Ndidi played all 90 minutes as Chelsea beat Leicester City 2-1 in extra-time while Iheanacho was taken off in the second half.

Ola Aina was on for 90 minutes as Hull City disappointedly lost 3-0 away Birmingham City.

In Turkey

Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Agu had an impressive outing for Turkish club Bursaspor in their 1-0 win over Sivasspor.

Agu’s performance garnered praises for his performance in the game which earned him a spot in the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week.

Also in the Team of the Week is another Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi who scored for Trabzonspor in their 4-1 win over Yeni Malatyaspor. He netted the fourth goal for Trabzonspor in the game.

Nigerian midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu was in action for all 90 minutes of the game for Yeni Malatyaspor.

In China

Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi was in fine form for Tianjin Teda in their 3-2 win over rivals Tianjin Quanjian.

Mikel registered an assist in the game to help TEDA record their first win of the season.

In Israel

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu netted the winner for Hapoel Beer-Sheva in their  1-0 home win against Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv in the Israeli Championship play-off clash on Sunday,

In Spain

Nigerian forward Isaac Success was in action for struggling Malaga in their away goalless draw against Celta Vigo.

Success played 69th minute before he was taken off.

Nigerian striker Brown Ideye was not in the matchday squad.

In Austria

Former Akwa United forward Ibrahim Alhassan came on in the 74th minute as his side Austria Wien were thrashed 5-0.

Super Eagles midfielder Joel Obi was an unused substitute for Torino in Sunday’s 2-1 Serie A defeat to Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico.

In Italy

Super Eagles midfielder Joel Obi was an unused substitute in Torino’s 2-1 loss to Fiorentina. That was Torino’s fourth straight loss in the Serie A.
