LMC partner with NTA for broadcast of NPFL games
Treading the path of the Premier League and La Liga, the LMC have not outrightly sold their broadcast rights.
The LMC have just gotten off a deal with SuperSport who were for some years the official broadcast sponsor of the NPFL.
After getting off the deal with SuperSport, the LMC have a signed a different kind of deal with NTA, this time the two parties will come together to set up a production company who will handle broadcast and distribution of the game.

Treading the path of the Premier League and La Liga, the LMC have not outrightly sold their broadcast rights, rather, have entered a partnership with NTA.
The agreement for the deal was signed at Conference Hall of NTA, Abuja on Friday, September 8 by the LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko and Mallam Yakubu Ibn Muhammed, the Director General of NTA.
According to a statement, the production company will be operated as a private, commercial venture using the resources of the NTA.
NTA’s equipment like the Outside Broadcast (OB) Vans specially designed for football and sports coverage, which had been acquired by the Federal Government at huge cost will be made available to the production company.
The partnership was strongly supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria through its Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
“The operation of the company, as envisaged will rely on the services of international technical partners and domestic expertise to provide the much-needed vehicle for the production of high-quality programmes and events for broadcast in the sports and entertainment industries,” the LMC and NTA said in a joint statement.
“This model is in keeping with proven international best practices in sports content production, distribution and broadcast,” the two organizations declared in their joint statement.”
LMC chief Dikko also revealed that the production company will not focus just on the NPFL and football but other industries like entertainment and cultural, political and business events in general.
