The NFF has been rocked with crisis since Chris Giwa claimed that the September, 2014 election which put current president in office was faulty but his case has been ruled out by FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

The House of Representatives’ Committee on Sports have now intervened in the crisis and backed Pinnick as the president.

The committee observed that Giwa frustrated the amiable resolution initiated to resolve the crises and showed lack of confidence and respect for the authorities.

A decisionwas reached by the committee that the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalong and the Federal Government of Nigeria shall continue to recognise, work and support the NFF under Pinnick's Presidency.

The Inspector General of Police and other Security Agencies have also been mandated to give full security and protection to the NFF under Pinnick's Presidency.
