Ghanaian midfielder returns to Chelsea
Essien shared a short video on his Instagram of him working out on a gym bike at the Chelsea training ground.
Essien played for Chelsea for nine years from 2005 to 2015 before moving to Serie A side, AC Milan.
Following his release from Greek side in the summer, Essien has returned to Chelsea to keep his fitness while he continues to search for a new club.
The former African Player of the Year shared a short video on his Instagram of him working out on a gym bike at the Chelsea Cobham training complex this week.
In the video, the 33-year-old is wearing Chelsea’s fluorescent green training kit.
Essien enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Chelsea winning two Premier League titles, four FA Cup trophies, one League Cup and a Champions League.
The former Ghana international also played for Lyon, Real Madrid in his highly successful career.
