Maicon has avoided a thigh tear, but it is not clear if the full-back will be fit to face Verona on Saturday.
Roma full-back Maicon has avoided a tear to this left thigh, scans have confirmed.
The experienced defender pulled up early during training on Monday and was subsequently sent for tests to assess the severity of the issue.
The Serie A club subsequently released a statement on Wednesday that read: "After stopping training on August 17 due to discomfort in his left thigh, Maicon underwent a series of medical tests that ruled out any tears.
"The player will continue with the personalised training plan he has been following for the past few days."
It remains to be seen if the former Inter and Manchester City will be fit to face Verona in their Serie A opener on Saturday.
