Van Gaal will be relaxing at Algarve where he has a holiday home.

This will be the 63-year-old's first holiday since joining Manchester United on a three-year-deal last summer.

After the World Cup last year which he took the Netherlands to, Van Gaal shunned the holiday to kick off his reign at Manchester United.

Van Gaal while in Portugal will be in constant touch with Manchester United's Chairman EdWoodward for transfers.

"All the players have to fly out to international duties but I will go on holidays and I’m willing to go to my paradise in Portugal," Van Gaal told Manchester Uutd official webiste.

Asked if the transfer business would be left to Woodward, Van Gaal added: "No, not to Ed because you also have a telephone and computer, so we are always in contact.

"As a manager, you never have holidays but I am in a better climate than here in Manchester. I am sorry to say that."
