Nigeria youth international signs 5-year-deal with Arsenal

Sports Day reports that the midfielder who was captain of the Golden Eaglets who won the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup revealed it himself.

Nwakali made the declaration on Sunday, February, 28  at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Eziobodo in Imo State during a thanksgiving service.

According to his agent, the five-year-deal will be activated when the midfielder clocks 18 in the summer.

“Kelechi has signed a five-year deal with Arsenal. I won’t be able to mention the exact transfer fee but it is above two million pounds,” the report quotes his agent as saying.

Nwakali and another member of the Golden Eaglets World Cup winning squad, Samuel Chukwueze held trails at Arsenal.

Chukwueze is also expected to put pen on paper for the Premier League giants.
